There was something significant & prophetic about the change of the old guard from Moses's leadership to Joshua's.

1.  Joshua is a type of Yahshua.

His name was Hosea which means salvation or savior.  This is the same name as that of the prophet and book of the bible who focused on the calling out the remnant of the Ephraimites from among the nations,   Moses changed his name to Yahshua which was anglicized to Joshua in english translations (Num 13:16).   This is the same name revealed by the angel to Joseph (Mat 1:21) and the name the angel Gavriel revealed to  Miriam (Luk 1:31).  Joshua is a messianic figure type and foreshadows Yahshua about whom Moses was perfectly aware.

2. Joshua is one of the two spies who returned with a good reconnaissance  report.   Caleb the Judean was the only other spy who also returned a good report.  This is quite significant because prophetically they are representatives of the messianic remnant of all Israel.   They represent the two houses that Yahweh has chosen.  (Jer 31:31; Isa 11:13; Eze 37:16; Eze 37:19; Zec 9:13)

3. Joshua, the Ephraimite (Num 13:8), represents the remnant of the Ephraimites and Caleb represents the remnant of the Jews.    Ephraim is by election the first born of Jacob (Gen 48:14-20 & Jer 31:9). Ephraim has double portion of duties in the end-times particularly during the period known as the trouble of Jacob. Ephraimites can shower Judeans (modern Israel) with a prayer covering pleading that their veil be removed and for their scales to fall off from their eyes.  Ephraim can shower the rest of the remnant of ephraimites believers with prayer for the Holy Spirit to remove their veil and scales.   This is for the remnant of the Ephraimites to embrace Torah observance as the Holy Spirit empowers and leads.

4.  What are the two characteristics of the remnant of the seed of the woman that Joshua and Caleb represent in the end-times?

Rev 12:17  And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of YHWH, and have the testimony of Yahushua the Messiah.

Rev 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YHWH, and the faith of Yahushua.

5.  Who keeps Torah and keeps the testimony and faith of Yahshua, today?  Messianic Israel (Ephraim) and messianic Jews (Jew-dah).

Keeping (observing) Torah and keeping the faith and testimony of Yahshua.   You can not have one without the other.  The psalmist articulated it like this:

Psalm 119:174 I long for Yahshua, oh Yahweh, your Torah is my delight.

Solomon writes it like so:

Ecclesiastes 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear Elohim, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man.

6.  I subscribe to Universalism, believing that Yahshua died for the atonement of all of humanity.   However, the part of humanity that doesn't get the Messianic restoration will have the last chance that Elohim is giving humanity.

Rev 14:6  And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those dwelling on the earth, even to every nation and kindred and tongue and people,
Rev 14:7  saying with a great voice, Fear God and give glory to Him! For the hour of His judgment has come. And worship Him who made the heaven and the earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

The following is foreshadowed by the fall feast of the ingathering.    This is the harvest of grapes and fruits that goes through the wine press of the anger of Elohim.

Rev 14:17  And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

Rev 14:18  And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.

Rev 14:19  And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of YHWH.

Rev 14:20  And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
